| OBJECTIFS DU SUIVI ET MÉTHODE DE TRAVAIL - La présente étude, qui s'intègre dans le cadre du programme national d'immersion de récifs artificiels, doit s'étaler sur cinq ans. Le travail effectué depuis mars 1984, date à laquelle ce programme a réellement été lancé, concerne principalement des aspects méthodologiques et secondairement le traitement des informations recueillies au cours de cette année et demie de recherches. Le but final de ce programme est de tenter de fournir des éléments permettant d'évaluer les impacts des récifs artificiels sur les pêches et l'environnement. | The great size of the continental shelf, the low landscape of the coasts, the lack of a sailing channel, are factors which make the precise localization of a ship on the bank of Arguin difficult, if not impossible. As a result, the data on the topography, though important, is still incomplete or imprecise. It is almost non-existent for the wide and shallow central shelf located inside the reef area where dangerous sailing adds up to these measuring difficulties. Filling these gaps is needed if we want to continue the exploration of this region and the assessment of the stocks. Concerning the nature of the seabed, a spreading of the sand towards the open-sea is observed, which is the direct consequence of the nearness of the desert, the action of the winds... |

| Ce travail consiste en une analyse et un classement des textes traitant des récifs artificiels et porte sur 792 publications. Les documents consultés présentent des niveaux d'intérêt très divers, seulement un petit nombre de ces documents peut être considéré comme fondamental ; en revanche, la majorité d'entre eux n'aborde ce sujet que de façon superficielle et se limite souvent à la répétition d'ouvrages antérieurs. Toute indication quant à la valeur relative de chaque article a été volontairement évitée, de manière à laisser aux lecteurs l'entière liberté d'appréciation selon le domaine dans lequel ils se sentent concernés. | Triglida Lepidotrigla cavillone (LACÉPÈDE) was, until recently, considered as the only member of the genus Lepidotrigla in the Mediterranean Sea. In 1965 AUDOUIN reported the presence on the Algerian coasts of a new species of Lepidotrigla that he temporarily named Lepidotrigla sp. During trawling cruises conducted by the vessel of the Institute of Marine Fisheries the "Ichthys" in the Gulf of Lion, a lepidotrigla, very different from the species Lepidotrigla cavillone, was collected. The morphological characters and the ecology of both forms were studied comparatively. |

| The laying out of an offshore site in the gulf of Lion has been realized by immersion of concrete structures in 1985. Two complementary studies have been conducted in order to estimate the impact of such artificiel reef. Gillnet fishery surveys have been done in the vicinity of the structures and also on a control site. Moreover the local profcssional fishery has been investigated for two periods of 16 months, one berore and one arter the reef immersion. The results of the gillnet surveys have already been submitted to publication and the present study displays the investigations concerning the local fishery.
